Eckhart Tolle, Silicon Valley Leaders to be Featured at Wisdom 2.0

Redwood City, CA (PRWEB) November 03, 2011

The Wisdom 2.0 Conference is a one-of-a-kind event in Silicon Valley which brings together people from a variety of disciplines, including technology leaders, Zen teachers, neuroscientists, and academics, to explore the merging of wisdom in modern life. Founded in 2009 by Soren Gordhamer, author of Wisdom 2.0: Ancient Secrets for the Creative and Constantly Connected, the Wisdom 2.0 Conference is rapidly becoming a staple of the Silicon Valley calendar; in 2011, the conference sold out a month early, and the livestream garnered 284,000 views.

"In our increasingly connected lives, are we going to live more distracted and overwhelmed," asks Gordhamer, "or can we live mindfully and wisely, and use technology for a greater purpose?" At the third annual Wisdom 2.0 Conference this February, wisdom teachers such as Eckhart Tolle and Jon Kabat-Zinn will join technology leaders, including the founders of Facebook, Paypal and Zynga, to explore this vital question.

The 2012 conference boasts more than 25 presenters, including Dustin Moskovitz, co-founder of Facebook and Asana; Padmasree Warrior, Chief Technology Officer of Cisco Systems; Karen May, Vice President of Google; and Premal Shah, president of kiva.org. These technology gurus will share the stage with mindfulness teacher Jon Kabat-Zinn; Buddhist teacher Jack Kornfield; yoga activist Seane Corn; and for the first time, Eckhart Tolle, whom Oprah calls the father of the now. Tolle is the author of the #1 New York Times bestseller The Power of Now and the highly acclaimed follow-up A New Earth, and is regarded as one of the most influential spiritual teachers of his generation.

Together, Wisdom 2.0 presenters and participants will explore ways for the constantly-connected modern person to evolve and thrive in a dramatically changing world. There is little question whether the external technologies of our age, from computers to cell phones, will continue to advance, says Gordhamer. The more vital question is whether our internal technologies of wisdom and compassion will advance along with them.

Wisdom 2.0 2012 will be held February 23rd - 26th at Hotel Sofitel in Redwood City, California and at Googles corporate headquarters in Mountain View. For more information, visit Wisdom 2.0 online at http://www.wisdom2conference.com.
